Dancer’s will experience

  • Dancers will receive hours of basic hip-hop training to improve their skills and learn new ones in house, top-rock, grooves, and more.

  • Dancers will train for the competition season with mock competition choreography created by Jordan Scates for the workshop. If you want to return to dancing at your best or join your first competition team, join Jordan today.

  • Dancers will be challenged to adapt choreography across varying difficulty levels, encouraging versatility in execution and improving movement retention under pressure. This method pushes dancers to think dynamically, adjust quickly, and perform with clarity regardless of complexity.

Q: Who is this event for?

A: Training includes:

  • Foundation-building hip-hop drills

  • Choreography sessions based on mock high-level competition routines

  • Skill blending exercises to enhance retention, adaptability, and versatility

Q: Do I need to audition or apply to attend?

A: No, But We’re capping enrollment at 10 dancers to ensure focused, individualized training. Enroll using the link provided.

Q: What’s the schedule?

A: The event runs July 26–27th, 2025, from 2:00–5:00 PM each day at The Dancer’s Institute, totaling 6 hours of training.

Q: What is the refund policy?

A: All payments for the Competition Prep Intensive are non-refundable. However, if you're unable to attend after being accepted, your payment may be transferred to a future Jordan Scates event or MVMT Certified program, pending availability and approval. Transfers must be requested at least 2 days prior to the event start date.

Q: Is there a dress code?

Please wear comfortable training attire and clean sneakers suitable for hip-hop movement. No studio branding is required — just come ready to move and be challenged.

Q: Will this feel like a regular class or a competitive setting?

A: This experience is designed to mimic elements of both competition group rehearsals and convention-style classes. Expect intensity, fast-paced learning, and feedback rooted in Jordan’s experience as a comp choreographer.

Q: What happens after I apply?

A: You’ll receive a confirmation that your application was submitted. Selected dancers will receive a follow-up email with next steps, including payment details and a final welcome packet.

Q: Will there be video footage or photos?

A: Select footage may be captured for recap or promotional use. If you're selected, media release consent will be included in your welcome materials.
